Earlier this month, it was claimed that the couple planned to marry in Paris next month, but French law states that anyone wishing to marry in the country needs to have lived in the country for at least 40 days before the wedding. West does own an apartment in the French capital, but he does not live there full-time.
A source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "They couldn't face the humiliation of the wedding being cancelled at the last minute. So they've decided to get married behind closed doors in Los Angeles before they fly out to France."
West, 36, and Kardashian are expected to tie the knot in Paris on 24 May. The couple have been in a relationship since April 2012. In December 2012, it was confirmed the couple were expecting their first child together. They welcomed a daughter, North 'Nori' West, the following June and in October 2013 the pair announced their engagement.
