A new survey of cheating men has revealed they are more likely to stray after they become parents.
The study by Victoria Milan found that of the 5,000 cheating men that took part, 78% are in their first marriage – and 82% of them started being unfaithful after they had children.
The most common reason given for cheating was that sex with their partner stopped being passionate after the baby came, with 30% of men saying this.
A further 23% claimed a lack of sleep had led to problems in the bedroom which had caused them to stray, while 18% blamed their other half for spending all their attention on their child instead.
Other cheating men, said economic problems were the source of their marital woes (13%) while 14% suggested that other family issues were the cause of their problems.
Of those who took part in the study, just 22% were remarried.
Commenting on the findings, Sigurd Vedal, CEO of Victoria Milan, said: "Generally, second relationships, whether they be marriages or other committed relationships, are usually stronger because past experience has served both to correct behaviours and provide a more mature attitude towards relationships.
"It is also more common for problems arising from parenthood to happen in the first relationship - this is a function of both age and experience."
