Jennie McAlpine Expecting First Child

Jennie McAlpine has announced she is pregnant.

The Coronation Street actress took to Twitter to share her happy news.

It will be the first child for McAlpine and her partner Chris Farr.

Writing on the social networking site, the 30-year-old revealed: "We have some news to share. Chris and I are expecting an addition to our family. Very happy x."


She was quickly inundated with congratulatory messages from fans as well as her Corrie castmates, including Jack P Shepherd who said: "@jenniemcalpine knew it! Well done! X" and Michelle Keegan who said: "@jenniemcalpine arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh JEN!!!!!! SO SO excited for u!! Congratulations! Amazing news!!!!!! xxx (sic)".

McAlpine and Farr have been in a relationship since 2005, having been introduced by a mutual friend – and Jennie's Corrie co-star – Antony Cotton.
