The actor and his partner Ginnifer Goodwin – both of whom star in television show Once Upon A Time – took to his Twitter account to thank his followers for their kind messages.
In a short tweet, he wrote: "Thanks for all the well wishes about our new baby boy. We are in LOVE! He's our favourite person."
The couple, who married in April, welcomed their first child together on 29 May. They have not released the name of their son.
