BB Contestants Clash Over Gay Marriage

Contestants on this year's Big Brother series have clashed over their views on gay marriage.

Danielle McMahon, who entered the house last week, was involved in a disagreement with fellow housemate Kimberly Kisselovich on the issue.

Ms McMahon, who has described herself as a devout Catholic, spoke out about same-sex marriages, saying she did not support the practice.

Her opinion upset Kisselovich who argued that while she is also religious, she finds it "disgusting" as to how those in same-sex relationships can be treated by the church.

She explained: "I went to church with my sister, close to my house... We have a lot of friends who are gay and we walked in there and they were absolutely slating gay people... They're in hell and all this sort of stuff and I just walked out. How could someone be so horrible. I find it so crazy."

McMahon agreed that sometimes it was "too much", saying: "I'd never turn around and say, you're going to hell...God still loves you regardless. I just don't agree with it in the church of God."

"The only point I see in marriage is through God in the Catholic church... or else, to me, it's not marriage really," she added.

The first same-sex wedding ceremonies took place in Britain earlier this year. The Catholic Church had been one of the most vocal opponents of the legislation.
