The former Hear'Say star confirmed the news in a recent interview with Hello! magazine.
The couple have enjoyed a 12-month whirlwind romance, but Shaw, 32, has said her fiancé is "a breath of fresh air".
She explained: "He is everything I've ever wanted in a man. Strong, protective, sensible, intelligent, affectionate, good-looking – he ticks all the boxes. I know understand the term 'my other half'.
"People say it all the time, but now I know what it means to feel part of a team moving in the same direction."
The singer and actress added that she also appreciates the fact that her partner is not involved in the world of show business.
"He's like a breath of fresh air," she admitted. "He hasn't had the drama I've had but can still empathise. I am, at heart, a laid-back person; complications come to me. But I don't want the drama any more. I'll keep the drama to the stage.
"Thankfully, I've come out the other side now. Time is a great healer and we have so much to look forward to. I feel really secure and I'm the happiest I've ever been in my personal life – ever in my life."
Shaw was formerly married to DJ Jason King. The couple, who started dating in December 2005, announced their engagement in August 2008 and married the following June in Dorset. In February 2012, a day before Valentine's Day, it was confirmed that the couple had separated. Prior to her marriage to King, Shaw was in a relationship with Darren Day. The pair have one son together, Corey, who was born in December 2004. On Mother's Day 2005, Day walked out of the family home, ending the couple's romance.
