Over the last number of weeks, the model has posted a series of cryptic messages on Twitter hinting that her marriage has been in trouble, after her partner – Tom Williams – failed to return home from Las Vegas.
On Wednesday (13 August), the 32-year-old told her fans: "Big day tomorrow #truth". It was accompanied by a broken heart emoticon.
It has now emerged that her husband has returned to the US, leaving McLean to look after their two children.
Speaking to the media, a spokesperson for McLean confirmed: "Tom went back to Vegas on Wednesday and Nicola doesn't know what date he will be back."
While McClean is based in the UK, Williams owns his own concierge service in Las Vegas. As a result, he can spend a number of weeks at a time in the city as he shows tourists and partygoers where to visit in the area. However, on the last occasion, the former footballer didn't return home when he was supposed to. Leaked footage later appeared to show Williams flirting with a woman in a Las Vegas nightclub.
McLean and Williams tied the knot in June 2009. They have two sons together, Rocky, eight, and four-year-old Striker.
