NI's Most Popular Baby Names Revealed

A new study has revealed the most popular baby names in Northern Ireland for 2013.

Jack, which has been the most popular boy's name for the last decade, once again came top of the list, with 293 babies given the name. For the girls, it was a tie – with Emily and Grace sharing the honour, according to the NI Statistics and Research Agency said.

Other popular names included James, Charlie, Jacob and Daniel for the boys, and Sophie, Ella, Amelia and Lucy for the girls.

There were also a few, slightly more unusual monikers making the list for 2013. For example, three boys were called Turlough, while Karter (3), Che (8) and Szymon (9) also featured.

For the girls, three babies were called Cheyenne, with Jagoda (3), Devon (4) and Indie (11) making the list.
