'Twilight' Fan Marries Cardboard Cut Out

A woman has tied the knot with the man of her dreams, even if he doesn't quite know it himself.

Laura Adkins, who is from Las Vegas, is now happily married – to a life-size cardboard cut out of 'Twilight' vampire, Edward Cullen.

Cullen is played by British actor Robert Pattinson in the movies, and speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ms Adkins, 25, admitted she fell in love the moment she saw the character on screen. However, while it isn't the most conventional of relationships, she admitted that she doesn't mind.

"People might think I'm crazy but my flat-pack R-Patz is the closest I'll get to the real thing and he's the one for me," she said. "A friend who thought I was going mad said one night: 'If you love him so much why don't you marry him?'

"Her words rang in my ears. She was right. Why didn't I?"

With that in mind, Adkins set about organising her dream wedding, even getting the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel to carry out the service.

Commenting on their ceremony, she added: "I walked down the aisle in the white wedding dress I've always dreamt of.

"The day cost £2,000 but I didn't care - I wanted to do it properly. We had our honeymoon in LA and I wanted us to climb up to the Hollywood sign together.

"I had to carry him, but everyone makes sacrifices for the man they love, right?"
