The couple started dating earlier this year and announced their engagement just weeks after they met, but in August they ended their relationship following a series of rows. It was later confirmed they had decided to give their romance another chance, but the couple have now gone their separate ways for good.
Speculation that the pair had ended their relationship first emerged last Sunday (2 November) when Richards, 24, took to Twitter to say: "Absolutely gutted that me and @westbrookdanni have split but im goin away 2sort myself out, i love dan 2bits n wil do waever it takes 2fix it (sic)".
Westbrook, 41, also took to the social networking site on the same day, but according to the Daily Mirror, she was not as upset about the split.
She is said to have tweeted: "Love a snuggled Sunday just my kids and me.. Perfect … Just the way I like it.. #singleLife (sic)."
The tweet has since been deleted.
However, on Thursday her former fiancé returned to Twitter to say he was still struggling with the end of their romance, telling his followers: "This is tough." He later added: "Please something good happen, when will all this end."
Westbrook and Richards started dating earlier this year after the former EastEnders' actress ended her 12-year marriage to Kevin Jenkins. Just weeks after meeting Richards, Westbrook announced in April that they were engaged. In June she confirmed she had miscarried the couple's child.
Following a series of arguments, they decided to separate in August but were reunited shortly afterwards when Richards flew to Los Angeles to help his partner get clean after she admitted she had started taking drugs again.
It is not clear why the couple have decided to end their romance this time.
