Katherine Jenkins has revealed she is ready to start a family.
The classical singer added that she would like to become a mother next year.
Jenkins, 34, who tied the knot with Andrew Levitas in September, confirmed to Hello! magazine: "I can't wait to have kids. I can't wait for us to become a family if and when – God willing – that happens."
While having children is now a priority for the singer, she added that she will take time out of her busy career to raise her kids.
"I don't want to be dragging my children around on aeroplanes," she said. "I know it works for some people, but it's just a personal thing for me. I want to be at home, I want to be there. I'd love my kids to have a really happy, secure childhood because it's so important.
Jenkins and Levitas, an American film producer, announced their engagement in April after just six months of dating. They married in September in a ceremony at London's Hampton Court Palace.
