Greg Rutherford has revealed he cried when his son, Milo, was born earlier this year.
The Olympic gold medallist, and his girlfriend Susie Verrill, became parents for the first time last month.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, Rutherford has now spoken out about the emotional experience he went through as he waited for his son to be born.
He said: "The Olympic gold will always be the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my athletics career, but nothing could come close to how happy I felt when I first saw Milo's lovely little face. I was crying my eyes out."
He also went on to explain why he and his girlfriend chose to give their son so many middle names. Milo's full name is Milo Andrew William James Nugget Rutherford, and the 27-year-old confessed: "William and James after our granddads. And Nugget is the name we gave him when Susie was first pregnant. We've even put it on the birth certificate."
