The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter announced her pregnancy earlier this year, but has now opened up about the heartache that she and her husband, Mark Herbert, have gone through.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, the 39-year-old admitted: "It took a long while for it to sink in that I was pregnant because we'd been trying for quite some time – years, in fact.
"We'd got to the stage where we'd started to think, 'Is this ever going to happen for us?' We'd actually just gone through the paperwork to go down the IVF route as we thought it might be the only option left for us.
"Even now there's a big part of me that won't quite believe it until I have my baby safely in my arms."
Her husband added that he was emotional when he discovered they were to become parents, saying it was a "huge relief".
