Men will spend more money on Christmas presents than women, a new survey has claimed.
Those aged between the ages of 30 and 40 are the ones who will spend the most, with a third of the group happy to splash out more than £500 on treating their loved ones.
However, they actually buy less presents than their fellow females.
The study, commissioned by Flubit.com, found that women tend to be more sensible with money, with just 48% spending more than £250 on gifts for Christmas.
More than two-thirds plan to buy more than 10 gifts, however.
When it comes to the Christmas shopping, of the 812 people who took part in the study, almost 40% said they will take two hours – or less – to carry out the task, while 20% need at least three hours.
This year, a majority of people (77%) will actually do most of their Christmas shopping online, with many online retailers offering savings ahead of 'Cyber Monday', while others wish to avoid the hustle and bustle of the high street. And when it comes to who will be getting spoilt this festive season? It appears animals are the nation's favourite, with 53% saying they would be buying a gift for their pet.
A spokesperson for Flubit.com is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "We discovered some interesting differences in Christmas shopping behaviours between men and women, young and old this year. This helps us to make our service more tailored and personal to our individual customers."
