The research, conducted by BabyCentre UK, found that the most popular boy's name for this year is Muhammad, while for the girls, Sophia claimed the top spot.
Looking at the top 100 list for the boys, Oliver and Jack remain popular, at second and third place respectively, while Jacob, Charlie, Harry and Ethan also feature in the top 10. Other names fell out of favour, however, because while Brody, Josh, Tristan and Patrick were new entries to the list last year, they no longer feature in the top 100. Instead, new additions including Hunter, Leon and Omar can be found.
Rory, which fell 24 places in 2013, rose 26 places this year, to feature at 64 in the list, while Ben, George and Zachary have slipped down the table.
The top 100 girls' names for 2014 had a new name in first place, while last year's number one choice – Olivia – fell to fourth. Emily remained in second place, with Lily in third and Amelia rounding out the top five.
Maryam jumped 59 places to sit at 35 on the list, while Violet, Kayla and Florence were also big climbers. Just like the boys, there were a number of new entries, with Nur, Elsa, Harper and Alexis all featuring.
Of course, no list would be complete without some of the more unusual baby names, and this year London, Wren and Genesis were among the more unique girls' names, with Hendrix, Prince and Braxton featuring for the boys.
