Earlier this week, it was claimed the couple have been unable to plan their special day because of their busy work schedules, with 21-year-old Malik then reported to have made the decision to postpone the ceremony.
Edwards, also 21, has now addressed the reports, confirming that they are just happy to remain engaged for the time being.
Speaking at the Cosmo Ultimate Women Awards on Wednesday night, the 'Little Mix' singer told Digital Spy: "We have no idea [when we'll get married. We're just going with the flow, we're just happy to be engaged and enjoying it.
"And yeah, we'll get there eventually when we're not too busy to make it perfect."
Malik and Edwards started dating in 2011 after meeting on The X Factor. They announced their engagement in August 2013 and the couple had initially said they wanted to marry in 2015.
