According to the Daily Mirror, the 36-year-old and her husband, artist Marco Perego, welcomed their children on 8 December.
A friend of the couple has been quoted as saying that it is a "dream come true" for the pair and that as they "both want a big family, this is the start".
Earlier this year it was revealed that the actress was expecting twins after her former 'Crossroads' co-star Britney Spears let the information slip.
When asked if there was a possibility of a sequel to the 2000 hit movie, the singer commented: "That's a very good idea. But she's pregnant with twins right now."
Saldana and Perego started dating in March 2013 and married in a secret ceremony in London in June of that year. They revealed their pregnancy news in July 2014.
