A new survey has revealed that the most popular gift men and women want for Christmas this year, is cash.
The study, conducted by lastminute.com, also found that many people will be left disappointed with some of the gifts they receive over the festive season, while four in 10 will fake happiness so they do not appear rude.
The average person will receive eight Christmas presents this year – but will hate two of them.
For men, the gifts they most dread are tacky ties, Christmas jumpers and socks. While for women, diet books, plastic surgery vouchers and ornaments are a no-no.
Interestingly, while many dislike the presents they are given, almost a quarter of those polled confessed they buy gifts they know their recipient will hate.
It isn't all bad new though, as both men and women are in agreement that the best gift they could receive this year is cash, while 18% would like a beach holiday.
