Brendan Cole Dismisses Ex's Claims

Brendan Cole has dismissed his ex-partner's claim that he left her feeling "shame" following their separation.

The former couple, who are also professional dancers, were in a relationship for six years before they joined the first series of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2004. However, their romance – and engagement – soon came to an end following allegations that Cole had grown close to his 'Strictly' partner Natasha Kaplinsky.

Earlier this month, Dallerup, 40, spoke about her relationship with Cole, in her new book Strictly Inspirational. There, she revealed: "To this day I have no idea whether it was [Natasha's] fame and celebrity that swept him away or if he really did feel a strong connection with her.

"I'm guessing it was probably a bit of both. It felt as if the fact that we'd just got engaged meant nothing to either of them.

"What was really hurtful was not just that Brendan appeared to have forgotten he was engaged, the entire nation seem to have forgotten he was engaged."

Cole, 38, has now hit back at his ex's claims, telling The Mirror: "It's nothing really new to me. It was a long time ago. I'm happily married with a child, so is she, she's a married woman. I live now, not ten years ago."

Cole married model Zoe Hobbs in 2010 and their daughter, Aurelia, was born on Christmas Day in 2012. Dallerup is now married to former Hollyoaks' actor Kevin Sacre. They tied the knot in July 2010.
