Greg Wood Denies Romance Claims

Hollyoaks' actor Greg Wood has denied reports that he is in a relationship with Sheridan Smith.

The Sun on Sunday had claimed the couple exchanged a number of flirty messages shortly after Wood's 10-year marriage came to an end.

According to the newspaper, Greg and Sheridan started seeing each other months after he separated from his wife last summer. They were then spotted together at a restaurant in Liverpool. Shortly afterwards, following Smith's win at last week's National Television Awards, the actor tweeted her to say: "well deserved babe, proud of you X (sic)".

The pair were then spotted together after the ceremony, looking cosy.

Wood was married to wife Catherine for 10 years and they have three children together. Last summer, the couple's relationship came to an end.

Despite being separated though, news of the alleged romance was said to have been a surprise to his ex-partner.

A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Her split from Greg was far from amicable, but they were together for a long time. The two of them aren't even divorced yet, though they are going through the process."

However, 36-year-old Wood has now taken to Twitter to deny the reports. He told his fans: "I am single, my ex and I separated last summer and are currently going through a divorce."
