Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms Marriage

Benedict Cumberbatch has tied the knot with his fiancée Sophie Hunter.

The couple married in a private ceremony on the Isle of Wight on Saturday (14 February).

In a short statement, a spokesperson for the actor added that it was a "magical day".


Just a handful of guests are said to have been invited to the ceremony.

Cumberbatch, 38, and Hunter, 36, first met in 2009 when they starred opposite each other in Burlesque Fairytales, but they were only spotted together publicly in June 2014 when they attended the French Open.

In November 2014, they confirmed their engagement and last month they announced they were expecting their first child together.
