The actress, 68, started dating 37-year-old Bricklin five years ago.
Neither party have commented on the claims, but according o the New York Post's Page Six, the couple decided to go their separate ways after filming reality television series 'Connected'.
Connected centres on six couples who were given a camera to document their lives in New York City.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "It caused a lot of strain in the relationship.
"It's documented for the show that Susan breaks up with him because she doesn't want to be involved with the show. She says, 'You're a cast member, I'm not.'"
Sarandon and Bricklin are said to have met during a road trip to Chile in early 2010. They started dating shortly afterwards.
