When the tapes were first leaked, the 23-year-old was suspended from the show while an investigation was carried out. Now, a spokesperson for the reality television show has confirmed the father-of-two will not return. In a statement to the MailOnline, they said: "Dan was suspended during the last series of TOWIE and Lime Pictures and ITV have since decided he will not be returning to the show. We wish him luck in the future."
In March, Osborne was arrested and then released without charge by Essex Police following the release of the first tape. A second was leaked shortly afterwards.
The recordings appear to show Osborne – who has a 15-month-old son, Teddy, with his ex – upset at Ms Tomlin regarding any romantic relationships she may have in the future. At the time, the couple were no longer together. The second tape, which was published by The Sun on Sunday after it was handed over by Tomlin, saw Osborne threaten his ex in front of their child.
The TOWIE star later released a statement apologising for his behaviour, saying he was "ashamed", "embarrassed", and "truly sorry".
Tomlin and Osborne dated for 18 months before going their separate ways. Osborne then started a relationship with EastEnders' actress Jacqueline Jossa but the couple split after it was revealed the TOWIE star was expecting a child with his ex. He briefly reunited with Tomlin, but they ended their romance again before Osborne went back to Jossa in spring 2014. Just weeks later, the couple confirmed they were expecting their first child together. Their daughter, Ella, was born in February 2015.
