The couple took to their respective social media accounts over the weekend to share their happy news, with 34-year-old Ritchie writing: "Hi everyone we are very pleased to announce that me and @CHLOEJASMINEW are engaged I am over the moon thank you peeps."
The couple then made a joint appearance on ITV's This Morning, where they shared more details of how Ritchie popped the question.
Speaking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden, Ritchie confessed: "I took her to this really posh restaurant on her birthday eve, and I put this ring in [a bag] with loads of tissue paper and newspaper. She thought a teddy bear was going to jump out, and I had to pull the ring out and put it on her finger. I got down on one knee."
His fiancée added: "We had just been to bootcamp in Norfolk so we were absolutely starving so I was very concentrated on the chocolates and you don't expect something like that to happen so out of the ordinary, and I actually said, 'Are you sure?' I was in shock."
And looking ahead to their wedding, the couple said they are plan to tie the knot next summer.
