Steve Backshall Announces Engagement

Steve Backshall has announced his engagement to Helen Glover.

Taking to Twitter, the wildlife presenter shared a number of photos of the couple together – they are currently tracking animals in Africa – and told his followers: "Sunset in the Namib desert, I asked the most beautiful girl in the world to marry me & she said yes! @Helenglovergb (sic)."


Ms Glover, who is an Olympic rower, also commented on the happy news, tweeting: "Happiest girl in the world!!! Most romantic moment ever as the sun was setting in Namibia @SteveBackshall."

She also shared an image of her engagement ring.
