Speaking on ITV's Loose Women she revealed that Kieran never wanted to be with her friend.
Katie said: "I caught Kieran but he never ever wanted to be with her - even when the chance was there.
"I am so pleased I went through it and I'm 18 months on and my head is clearer.
"Everyone will say all they have to say about them, but I am so happy I stayed with him - we're both very happy. I'm very glad I heard him out."
The pair have two children together.
