Appeal After Wedding Ring Goes Missing

A man from Dublin has issued a social media appeal to find his friend's wedding ring, after it went missing on his wedding day.

The bride and groom, who haven't been named, tied the knot over the weekend, but were forced to use a substitute ring for the groom after his went missing when it came loose from the wedding cushion.

Now, Darragh Doyle has issued a public appeal on social media to help return the ring to its owner. On behalf of the couple, he wrote: "Dear Dublin Taxi Driver,

"Yesterday, Saturday 12th December, you picked up a fare outside the Shelbourne Hotel. Three ladies were going to a wedding in Newman University Church on the Green. The lady sitting beside you carried a cushion with wedding rings on it.

"Unfortunately one seems to have come loose and may be in your taxi. It is a bright shiny platinum flat man's wedding ring.

"If you have found it, can you please let me know? Obviously of huge sentimental value! Thank you very much.

"Thanks too to those who share or RT this. Your help is appreciated."

It is understood the mother of the bride was in the taxi and had the wedding cushion in her possession. It was only when they reached the church that they discovered the ring was missing, but the taxi driver had already left.

Anyone who finds the ring is asked to contact the Gardaí, or Mr Doyle via his Twitter account.
