Ellie Goulding has revealed she and Dougie Poynter have ended their relationship once again.
The couple have been dating on and off for two years, but the 29-year-old has said their busy work schedules are to blame for the latest split.
In an interview with The Mirror newspaper, she confirmed they had separated last month. She is quoted as saying: "I'm not in a relationship any more so that has been hard. Everyone knows breaking up with someone is a terrible thing and it's really hard and it's complicated.
"It's never going to be easy and I can't think of any of my friends who have been through a break up and said it was alright so it has been hard and I'm just grateful that I'm incompletely preoccupied with my tour and getting to see my fans.
"I think if I wasn't on the tour it would be a great deal harder as you know when you're by yourself you overthink things and wallow. I'm trying to keep my mind off it by watching and reading things."
Goulding and Poynter, 28, started dating two years ago. They were rumoured to be in a relationship for a number of months in 2014, but it was only confirmed by Poynter in May of that year during a documentary he was filming with boyband McBusted.
