Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice have denied reports that they are engaged.
The couple sparked speculation that they were to marry after Pernice shared an image of the couple together. In the black-and-white photograph, Foote is wearing a ring on her engagement finger.
Fans were quick to offer their congratulations to the couple, but they were then forced to reveal that they were not engaged.
Commenting on the photo, Pernice admitted: "Guys we are not engaged... This is a ring which means, in my tradition, that we are together... thanks for all the lovely comments!! We are really happy together!! (sic)."
Foote, 25, and Pernice have been dating for four months. They met last year when they were partnered together during the last series of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. The couple became good friends, but speculation soon arose that the couple were also romantically involved – despite Foote being in a relationship with actor Sean Ward at the time. However, she has since denied she was unfaithful to her partner, insisting that her romance with Pernice began after Strictly ended and after she had split up from her ex.
