According to reports, the Saudi Airlines flight SV21 was redirected after reports that "a woman is giving birth" on board.
A spokesperson for the airport later confirmed the flight had been diverted to Heathrow for a medical emergency.
London Ambulance Service was called to the scene and met the plane.
The woman was taken to hospital as a priority.
It is not known if she has given birth yet.
