Justin Bieber has deleted his Instagram account following an argument with his ex-girlfriend on the site.
Recently, the 22-year-old singer has been sharing images of himself with his new rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie. However, some of Bieber's fans took to Instagram to hit out at the couple and abuse Richie, 17.
Unable to take anymore, Bieber commented alongside of the couple's photos, asking for his fans to "stop the hate".
He wrote: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."
His words were criticised by a number of his fans – as well as his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez – who commented: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone."
The interaction was quickly spotted by fans and sparked a cryptic war of words between the former couple.
Bieber later wrote: "It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love.
"I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers (sic)."
Gomez then responded with: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
Bieber then made an allegation that the singer had been unfaithful with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.
Following the argument, Hailey Baldwin – another reported ex of Bieber – shared a message about "taking responsibility for actions" and trying to "manipulate a situation to make yourself look better".
Baldwin and Bieber then unfollowed each other on social media, even though she denied accusations that she was trying to get involved.
Bieber now appears to have deleted his Instagram account.
