Jesse Metcalfe has confirmed he is engaged.
The actor proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Cara Santana, on Saturday.
According to Us Weekly, the couple were onboard a 50-foot sailboat as they cruised along the Hudson River in New York when Metcalfe, 37, popped the question.
He is quoted by the magazine as saying: "It's been a long time coming, but we couldn't be happier."
It is understood the actor presented his partner with a 5.5-carat emerald cut diamond ring. Planning every detail for the proposal, the actor also ensured the couple's song, 'Pretty Girl' by Eric Clapton, played in the background as they watched the sun set.
Metcalfe and 33-year-old Cara have been in a relationship since 2008. They separated briefly in 2011, before reuniting.
