The couple, who have dated on and off since 2007, are thought to have separated after police were allegedly called to their home following a row.
According to TMZ, 29-year-old Cassie told her partner that their relationship was over as they were driving home. Diddy, 46, was said to be unhappy at this and grabbed his girlfriend's phone. He then is said to have jumped out of the car with her phone, while Cassie continued to drive to their house.
Later, Diddy returned home with the phone, before taking two cars and leaving.
Cassie, who is thought to have told her mother about the incident, then phoned the police.
TMZ said the rapper was not on the premises when police arrived, and they left once they heard Cassie has been reunited with her phone. A 'domestic incident report' is said to have been written up as well.
