Speculation that the 50-year-old was expecting a baby first emerged in April of this year, but this is the first time she has officially confirmed the news.
Earlier this year, the singer released a video on Twitter in which she told her fans that she had decided to postpone her current world tour because of a "sudden change". She then went on to say that she wanted to focus on starting a family with her husband Wissam Al Mana.
She explained at the time: "I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. Please if you can try and understand that its important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders."
Now, speaking to People magazine, Jackson said of the pregnancy: "We thank God for our blessing."
She also posed for a photograph for the publication. Her baby bump is visible in the image.
