The actor made his first red carpet appearance on Wednesday night when he made the comments. At the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, Allied, the 52-year-old told E! News: "It's really sweet. Everyone has been really kind out here. It's really nice to have all the support."
The actor's comments come just hours after TMZ reported that he had been cleared by the Department of Children and Family Services of Child Abuse.
Jolie, 41, and Pitt were together for 12 years. They married in 2014 and have six children together; Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox, and Vivienne. In September 2016, Jolie announced that she had filed for divorce, claiming that decision was made "for the health of the family".
