Kylie Minogue has admitted that her wedding to actor Joshua Sasse could still be a long way off.
The singer made the comments during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show which airs on ITV this Saturday, 10 December.
Minogue, 48, and 28-year-old Sasse announced their engagement in February of this year, have since said that they will not tie the knot until same-sex marriage has been legalised in Australia.
Explaining the couple's stance, Minogue told the host: "We were on vacation in Italy and something came up in the news about same-sex marriage still not being in Australia.
"He said, 'Is that right?' That doesn't seem to make any sense to most of us because Australia is a forward-thinking country and we have one of the biggest Mardi Gras there.
"He said, 'Well we should do something about it.' To his credit, something clicked in him and he said, 'I'm going to find out about this.'"
She continued: "We had these T-shirts made up and it kickstarted with [actress] Margot Robbie wearing it on [Saturday Night Live].
"We were at a Dolly Parton concert in Los Angeles with this message coming through saying 'Margot has worn the t-shirt', and we were photographed with Dolly Parton."
However, despite the couple's campaign, when asked how long she thinks it could be before same-sex marriage is legalised in her home land, she admitted: "It depends on who you listen to. It still could be a long way off.
"My fiancé is the motor of this and I support him wholeheartedly and so many people have jumped on board but to come from a straight guy I think it says a lot.
"It doesn't seem like news coming from me but coming from a foreigner who just couldn't believe that it's not yet legalised. So hopefully it won't be long."
Minogue confirmed that she was in a relationship with Sasse in November 2015, after weeks of speculation the couple were an item. In February 2016, they announced their engagement in the 'Forthcoming Marriages' section of The Daily Telegraph.
