In December 2016, Freeman revealed that he and Abbington had split amicably earlier in the year, but it has now been claimed that Abbington was "furious" regarding her partner's closeness to a female co-worker.
A source is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: "Amanda was absolutely furious about it. She confronted him over his relationship with the woman, who works in the business too, and demanded answers.
"She was obviously uncomfortable with how close Martin and this researcher appeared to be and made her feelings completely clear on the matter. It was very frosty."
They added: "In the end, Amanda and Martin's split has been very amicable. Fortunately they've managed to move on from it and they've both stressed how much they intend to remain the best of friends."
Freeman, 45, and 42-year-old Abbington first met in 2000 and started dating the following year. The couple have two children together; Joe, 10, and eight-year-old Grace.
