She explained: "I love motherhood. It's filled a void and made me more of a normal person."
However, she added that her work commitments often leave her feeling "guilty" when she has to leave her son, Freddie, behind.
"I hate it when he's upset when I'm not there. I feel so guilty. It's hard."
Ricci and her husband, James Heerdegen, welcomed their first child together in August 2014.
