Rio Ferdinand To Address Wife's Death For Documentary

Rio Ferdinand is to talk about his wife's death as part of a new documentary for BBC which will look at the impact grief has on parents who lose their partners.

Ferdinand's wife, Rebecca, was just 34 years of age when she passed away from cancer in 2015. The couple had three children together and in the documentary, the former footballer will talk to other widowed parents about how they manage their grief and support their children to continue re-building their lives.

Speaking about his own loss, he said: "I don't think I've grieved properly. I've not given myself that time to sit down and really flush everything out and go through it."

'Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum And Dad' will air on BBC One this spring.
