Spanish Woman, 64, Gives Birth To Twins

A 64-year-old woman from Spain has become a mother to twins.

According to Spanish media, the woman had undergone fertility treatment in the US. The woman, who has not been named, gave birth to a boy and a girl at the Recoletas Hospital in Burgos, northern Spain. The babies were delivered by Caesarean section, it is understood.

According to a report by the Spanish daily El Pais, the woman gave birth to a girl in 2012 but she was later taken into care by social services due to welfare concerns.

No decision has yet been taken about the twins.

The babies and mother are said to be in good health in hospital.
