According to reports, Shed Simove created the app – Shinder – in order to find himself a partner. However, when he tried to trademark the name, a legal objection was filed, by dating app Tinder. He is also said to have received a letter from lawyers who represent the elevator firm Schindler.
The Shinder platform invites people to register via Facebook. After answering a few questions it is decided whether the potential date is a match with Mr Simove. He is said to have already received 150 matches and been on three dates.
Simove added that while he decided to trademark his creation after hearing from others who wanted to create a similar platform for themselves, he did not think he would be a threat to the Tinder market.
