Tina Malone has announced that she plans to have another child, via a surrogate.
The 54-year-old made the revelation during an interview with The Sunday People in which she discussed adding to her family with husband Paul Chase.
She is quoted by the publication as saying: "Some will say I am selfish and irresponsible for having another child at 54. They will moralise and abuse me – even more so for selecting the sex of our baby – and everyone is entitled to their opinion."
However, the actress added: "I am doing this for [daughter] Flame and for my husband, not just myself. I am healthy, of sound mind, solvent – and a bloody brilliant mother."
She continued: "We still have eight embryos frozen in Cyprus. And whenever we went there I'd cry, moan and say to Paul: 'Please let me have another one.' But Paul won’t let me risk my life."
Malone and Chase, 35, have been married since 2010 and have one child together, four-year-old daughter, Flame. During her pregnancy with Flame, the actress developed life-threatening pre-eclampsia. Malone is also a mother to a 35-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
