Call For Progress On Marriage Equality

Campaigner for equality and Green Party north Belfast representative Malachai O'Hara has renewed the party's call for progress on marriage equality during the march for equal civil marriage.

She said: "The Green Party brought the first ever LGBTQ motion to the Assembly – that was an Equal Marriage motion back in 2012.


"The Green Party is the only party with a 100% record of votes in favour of Marriage Equality.

"This entire issue concerns love and the freedom to express this love. It's about couples wanting to show their commitment and to be afforded the same rights and responsibilities as their heterosexual brothers and sisters. We will keep campaigning alongside others until it is achieved."
