The pair have been married for 19 years and she has reportedly told friends it is not over for good.
A friend told the Daily Record: "Louise is having a bit of a mid-life crisis and wants to be a young hip woman. Jamie is content to watch telly and eat his meal on a TV tray, then off to bed."
She is believed to have moved out of the couple's mansion and is living in another property 15 minutes away.
The pal continued: "She wants him to wake up and smell the coffee. Leaving him is her way of saying, 'This is serious'.
"Louise told us that her and Jamie are still unbelievably close and in constant communication. But she needs more out of him."
