The couple, who both star on reality television show The Only Way Is Essex, are said to be willing to give their romance another try.
Photographs of the pair cuddling at a park in Essex over the weekend emerged, leading to speculation that they were back together.
Now, a source is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: "Dan always liked Amber but he wasn't up for having a serious relationship. Amber wanted more, which is why their break up affected her so badly.
"Now they're back in Essex, they've reconnected and their pals think it could go the distance."
Amber, 23, joined TOWIE with her then-boyfriend Jamie Reed. However, she soon cheated on her partner with Dan. Amber and Jamie subsequently split, and Amber moved on with Dan.
However, the couple separated earlier this year after Dan was said to have been "embarrassed" over Amber's actions since she joined the show.
