The Made In Chelsea star is said to be on the lookout for love following a string of failed relationships in recent months.
The 24-year-old previously dated his MIC co-star Tiffany Watson but announced their separation in May. The couple had been together since 2014.
At the time, Thompson decided to take a break from the reality TV show to deal with the split. He later appeared in the most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother, where he was linked to fellow housemate Amelia Lily. Despite the pair putting on a cosy display, they later confirmed that they would not be pursuing a romance.
If Thompson does appear on the show, he will join hosts Eden Blackman and Lady Nadia Essex as he looks for love.
A source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Sam was really heartbroken this summer over his split with Tiff, but he's now ready to put everything back into finding love.
"He was really young when he got together with Tiff so he hasn't had a great deal of experience of dating, so is willing to do everything that Nadia and Eden tell him to get back in the game."
