The Strictly Come Dancing professional was said to be having difficulties in her marriage to fellow dancer Kevin, and recently she was said to have been enjoying dates and "getting to know" 27-year-old accountant Stuart Wood.
However, the latest reports now claim that the 35-year-old has called time on the romance after news of it emerged in the press.
A source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "It was never a long term thing and Karen realises that she made a mistake. She ended things with Stuart shortly after the news broke.
"He is heartbroken as he thought they had a future together so has decided to accept a new job and will move to Texas next month to start a fresh chapter."
Karen and Kevin recently hinted that there was trouble in their two-year marriage and while they admitted that their relationship wasn't perfect, they tried to work through their problems.
