The couple famously exchanged words over social media last year when they confirmed that they were to separate. However, following an appearance on ITV's reality television show 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', Khan is now said to be a changed man.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain with his wife, the couple discussed their relationship.
Makhdoom told presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: "He came back [from the show] a changed man. He doesn't like going out, he likes staying home. I have to force him to go out now."
The pair also revealed how their relationship spiralled out of control during a trip to Dubai, when Amir stayed behind to attend to a "couple of meetings", while Faryal flew back to the UK.
"I think you say things when you're angry but it's a new year and I've put it all behind us," she continued. "We were away from each other, I was in the UK and he was in Dubai. I was kind of angry because he didn't get on the flight with me back to the UK."
Subsequently, Amir's social media accounts showed him partying in Dubai with a number of women who were said to have joined him.
Explaining the so-called "girlfriends", Amir said: "A lot of them were friends that Faryal knew and we'd been to dinner with. A lot of them were not true but obviously with what was going on in the media it was making it much worse.
"We were in talks about leaving each other and when these stories were coming out it was making it more real that it was going to happen. We were speaking about [splitting] and we weren't happy in the relationship at the time.
"I think we needed a bit of a break and once we had that we sat down and sorted all the issues out."
"I have [forgiven him]," his wife added. "We both made mistakes. I've probably made the situation worse getting him angry while he was away. We've been together for six years and we've never had a problem or a public dispute like this."
Amir and Faryal married in 2013 and have one daughter together. They are currently expecting their second child.
