Shona McGarty Gets Engaged

Eastenders actress Shona McGarty has gotten engaged to her boyfriend Ryan Harris.

Shona, who plays Whitney Dean on the soap, said he proposed during a surprise birthday party for her.

Ryan put the box with her engagement ring on the top of her birthday cake.


Speaking to OK! Magazine, she said: "I turned around and Ryan was down on one knee and I started crying."

Ryan said: "As soon as I knew she was ready [for marriage] I was throwing her off the scent!"

Speaking about her wedding plans she said: "We'd like an irish-themed wedding as my family is from sourthern Ireland. I'll be inviting my friends from Eastenders too."
