Speaking to People she said: "He was very cocky. He was funny, but he was cocky."
She only spent one season at Family ties and the pair didn't meet again until two years later.
He said: "I said, 'How's your boyfriend?' And she said, 'We're not together anymore'."
The pair have been married for 30 years.
